Mizoram’s War on Drugs: Contraband worth over Rs 30 cr recovered

Crackdown on drugs trafficking in Mizoram intensifies. Methamphetamine tablets worth over Rs 30.84 crore seized in Aizawl.
Intensifying the crackdown on drugs in Mizoram, the Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the excise and narcotics department recovered a large consignment of Methamphetamine tablets.
The consignment included 92, 550 Methamphetamine tablets worth a whopping Rs 30.84 crore and was recovered from the Falkland Veng area.
Based on specific inputs, the security forces intercepted a car at a checkpoint and recovered the contraband after frisking the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was apprehended and further probe is underway.
