Manipur’s Fight against Drugs; contraband worth several crore destroyed

As part of the anti-drugs campaign by the Centre, contraband weighing over 1000 kg was disposed in Imphal. Union HM Amit Shah virtually took part in the event.

Over 1,700 KG of narcotics was disposed off in Manipur soon after Union Home minister Amit Shah launched the mega campaign from Guwahati against drugs menace.

The seized drugs weighing as many as 1729.662 kgs were incinerated at the Shija Common Bio-medical Waste Treatment Facility at Lamdeng, Imphal West in the virtual presence of the union home minister and state Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.

The disposed drugs also included heroin, WY tablets, marijuana, Spasmo Proxyvon and N-10 tablets.

The disposed drugs were seized in connection with 57 cases.
