Amid the clamour for the creation of a Frontier Nagaland comprising of the Eastern part of the state, NDPP leader Imkong L Imchen has made a significant statement.
As the demand for Frontier Nagaland is gaining momentum, NDPP MLA Imkong L. Imchen today responded by stating that people in Eastern part of the state cannot straight away allege that they have been neglected by successive state governments since the attainment of statehood. Imchen speaking to Northeast Live backed his statements by stating that Eastern Nagaland, have equal representation in the state assembly, cabinet as well as in the Parliament. He added that the 20 Eastern MLAs must know as to what they were supposed to do and their obligations towards their own people. Adding to it, Imchen said the MLAs representing the Eastern part of the state must be aware of the ground situation. When asked if the ENPO’s decision to abstain from voting in the assembly as well as Lok Sabha elections, Imchen wondered about the motive behind this.
