Sikkim: SSP vice prez hands over flag to Bhaichung Bhutia

Bhaichung Bhutia graciously accepted the flag and declared the white and red bands as the official colors of the new party flag of HSP.

Senior Vice President of Sikkim Sangram Parishad, Kamal Rai handed over the flag of the SSP with horizontal bands of white and red to Hamro Sikkim Party Chief Bhaichung Bhutia on Wednesday.

The handing over took place while the Bhaichung Bhutia-led Hamro Sikkim Party had gone to pay homage to the former Chief Minister of Sikkim, the late Nar Bahadur Bhandari, on his 82nd birth anniversary.

Kamal Rai remarked that the late Nar Bahadur Bhandari would have wanted someone young like Bhutia to be the flag bearer of their vision for Sikkim.

Bhaichung Bhutia graciously accepted the flag and declared the white and red bands as the official colors of the new party flag of HSP.

Bhutia announced this decision to honor and carry forward Bhandari’s legacy and vision for a developed Sikkim.

Meanwhile, the publicity secretary of Sikkim Sangram Parishad, Tara Bhattrai formally joined the Hamro Sikkim Party.

Bhaichung Bhutia welcomed Tara Bhattrai and said that the Hamro Sikkim Party will benefit immensely from Bhattrai’s experience.
