The Arunachal Pradesh government has dismissed corruption allegations against Chief Minister Pema Khandu terming them as politically motivated.
Government spokesperson Nyato Dukam has said that the allegations were made to defame the Chief Minister who is running a popular government and are clearly politically motivated.
Referring to the charge that CM Khandu’s assets increased to the tune of Rs 163 crore as declared in his 2019 election affidavit, Dukam said that the CM has family businesses, bank deposits, and immovable properties.
While regular income is generated through business firms and rent, there is additional income from various assets, returns from investments, and bank interest accrued on deposits, he said.

Dukam added that ever since the BJP formed government in the state with Khandu as the Chief Minister, the government has adopted a Pan Arunachal view in its development agenda by ensuring an inclusive approach.
He also dismissed a few allegations as nothing but a figment of imagination.
It may be mentioned that an anti-graft body, Arunachal Against Corruption besides another organisation have levelled charges of corruption to the tune of crores against CM Khandu.
The Arunachal Against Corruption has also launched a foot march from the state capital Itanagar to New Delhi to demand Chief Minister Khandu’s resignation.
The AAC is demanding an inquiry against CM Khandu in several alleged scams in government schemes and departments, including the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.
