The MPCC president was reacting to a query on the alleged anomalies in the procurement of vehicles and use of fuel by a police officer.

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president Vincent Pala said that scams and corruption in the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government are nothing new.

The MPCC president was reacting to a query on the alleged anomalies in the procurement of vehicles and use of fuel by a police officer.

Pala also said that the dome of the new Assembly building in Mawdiangdiang collapsed but no action was taken against the contractor. The Meghalaya Congress chief said that the government sets up inquiries after inquiries, but no result ever comes out of them.

Pala also said that when he was appointed as president of the party in Meghalaya, Mukul Sangma and his colleagues left for the Trinamool Congress. But according to Pala despite the early excitement in the TMC, the party is also now divided.

He also said that a lot of NPP members in the grassroots have left the party for the Congress, especially in Garo Hills. Pala said that the difference between Congress and these parties is that they are good at marketing and social media.

Pala also said that the party has good candidates who are young with clean images. Pala further stated that to say the Congress is nowhere after the defection last year would be wrong.

He hoped that Congress will do well in the 2023 polls since the public are with the party. He further said that the good image of candidates will work against the money power of others.
