Sudip Roy Barman sustained injuries to the head and was rushed to the trauma center of the Agartala Government Medical College

Senior Congress leader and party MLA Sudip Roy Barman sustained injuries after his car was attacked along with the vehicles of other Congress leaders in the Ranirbazar area while they were returning from the venue of a proposed political program in Jirani.

Roy Barman sustained injuries to the head and was rushed to the trauma center of the Agartala Government Medical College and Govind Ballabh Pant hospital.

The Congress workers have blamed BJP for the attack even as they alleged that police acted as mere spectators as the incident took place.

Meanwhile, senior CPIM leader and former deputy speaker Pabitra Kar visited the GB Hospital to take stock of Sudip Roy Barman’s health condition.

Pabitra Kar informed that while Sudip Roy Barman’s condition was said to be stable, he will be kept under observation for 24 hours.

The senior CPI-M leader also said that there is no rule of law in the state adding that the BJP was scared of losing.

Meanwhile, another Congress leader Susanta Chakraborty who was injured in the incident was also brought to the AGMC and GB hospital.

Earlier in June, Sudip Roy Barman had sustained injuries following an alleged attack just ahead of the Tripura by-polls.
