The Mizoram government will be led by home minister Lalchamliana while the Assam delegation would be led by Assam ministers Atul Bora and Ashok Singhal.
After conducting a successful meeting to resolve the border issues with the neighboring states of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, the Assam government is all set to get down to hold talks with Mizoram today.
A crucial meeting to resolve the border dispute between the two states is going to be held at Aizawl in Aijal Club where delegations from both states will sit and try to iron out the differences.
The Mizoram government will be led by home minister Lalchamliana while the Assam delegation would be led by Assam ministers Atul Bora and Ashok Singhal.
Meanwhile, Lalchamliana will be accompanied by Mizoram information & PR minister Lalruatkima among others.
The Assam delegation is expected to arrive in Aizawl at around 10:45 today and is scheduled to stay in Aizawl for the night before returning to Guwahati tomorrow morning.
The Assam delegation will also reportedly include state border protection and development commissioner and secretary GD Tripathy.
Noteworthy here is that the Mizoram and Assam delegations had met in August last year to find a lasting solution to the vexed border issue after a violent clash broke out in July last year.
This was followed by two rounds of virtual meetings. In the virtual meets, both sides agreed to lift the talks to a high level and Assam was entrusted to frame modalities for the next talks.
