Amidst growing concern over increasing number of rapes and molestation cases in Assam.

In yet another heinous incident, a 26 year old boy raped a 14 year old girl at Dhubri. Infuriated locals nabbed the miscreant identified as Nur Zamal Haq and handed over to the police.

On the other hand a private tutor identified as Chandra Deka was arrested at Lanka in Hojai district of Assam for allegedly molesting a class nine student while she was alone at her home.

The accused also threatened the victim of killing her parents if she revealed about the incident. Defying this, the victim informed her parents about her ordeal who subsequently moved the school authorities for action against the teacher.

However, both the victim and the accused were expelled from the institution. Soon after this the victim’s family filed a case with the Kaki police. The police have arrested the accused.
