Assam workers’ death in A’chal – search on for contractor

Arunachal Pradesh Police is set to tighten its noose on contractor Bengia Bado and two others in connection to the case concerning the 19 workers who had fled from the construction site in Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh.
As per fresh inputs, the state police registered a case against Bengia Bado and two others based on an FIR filed by a relative of one of the rescued workers who had escaped from their construction site on July 5.
The two others include Roham Ali, who had allegedly siphoned off all the money meant for the wages of the wages, and Bengia Tali, the other sub-contractor, who had allegedly threatened the workers and even fired shots in the air to terrorize the workers who wanted to come back to their respective homes in Assam.
As informed by the Officer in Charge of Koloriang police station Gejum Basar, a case under section 341/506 and section 27 of the Arms Act.
He further stated while a case has been registered and new facts are unfolding, the police would further look deeper into the case. A warrant has already been issued to arrest the contractor and two others.
It may be mentioned here that earlier, chilling details were revealed by one of the workers from Assam, namely Khairul Islam, who said the workers were constantly threatened and were not given food to eat.
Out of the total 19 workers, 10 have been rescued while bodies of 6 were recovered. 3 still remain missing.
