Deputy Commissioner Nighee Bengia has taken it on himself to trace the missing workers with whatever resources he has at his disposal.
Even as 10 among the 19 missing workers from Assam were rescued in the Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh, search operations continue to locate the 9 remaining workers.
It may be mentioned here that the aerial search operations could not be conducted by the IAF earlier, primarily because of inclement weather conditions.
However, not letting up, Deputy Commissioner Nighee Bengia has taken it on himself to trace the missing workers with whatever resources he has at his disposal.
As per inputs, DC Bengia is currently focussing solely on ground search.
And what you see on your screens are the Northeast Live exclusive visuals of the operations, where you can see Deputy Commissioner Bengia leading the personnel in the rugged and hilly terrain.
The workers went missing from a heavily forested area in Kurung Kumey district on July 5 with the police having no clue about their whereabouts.
The area has no internet connectivity which is hampering search operations. Currently, the authorities are engaging the SDRF in the search operations.
Notably, the laborers were engaged by the BRO in road construction in Huri under the Damin circle. The workers who were brought to the construction site at Huri village in Kurung Kamey by 2 sub-contractors namely Ruham Ali and Adbul Kudus on June 6, left the camp on the night of July 5. Of the two sub-contractors, 14 are missing from one, while 5 are missing from the other.
