Guwahati police seizes contraband worth Rs 20 crore

The arrested Manipur Police constable has been identified as Letmin Singh Haokip and another person identified as Thaukhuging Haokip.
Guwahati Police has seized contraband worth Rs 20 crore in a fresh raid. Police seized about 1 lakh banned tablets which are estimated to be about Rs 20 crore. Meanwhile, the police team also arrested a constable of Manipur Police during the raid.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of Guwahati’s Joint Commissioner of Police, Partha Sarathi Mahanta when police conducted the drug bust from a car at the NH-37 near Garchuk.
The arrested Manipur Police constable has been identified as Letmin Singh Haokip and another person identified as Thaukhuging Haokip has also been arrested.
The duo was reportedly trying to smuggle the contraband from Manipur to Bengaluru via Guwahati.
In yet another success, the Assam police seized drugs worth Rs 2.5 crore in Bokajan on Saturday. As per inputs, the contraband was seized from a bus last night during a special operation.
Meanwhile, a drug peddler identified as Santosh Thapa has also been apprehended.
