Yet another instance of crime aginst women in Assam. This time the victim has been brutalised in the heart of Guwahati.

A woman was assaulted and left to die near a school at Garchuk in Guwahati sending shock waves across the State.

The victim was rescued by locals from near the Dakshin Gaon High School, a place merely two hundred metres from the Garchuk Police station.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the Gauhati Medical College. Meanwhile, the incident that took place in such a close vicinity of a police station has raised questions on the safety of women.
