In order to put a check to the growing number of crimes against women in Kamrup Metro, police will work closely with civic groups to make women more aware and vigilant and also to help them with legal proceedings in order to curb the rising number of crimes against women.
This was informed following a meeting between the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati along with Special DGP Kuladhar Saikia, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro Virendra Mittal, several senior police officers and Civil Society members, Senior Citizens and other bodies to discuss measures to control the rising number of crimes against women. Several suggestions were also exchanged during the conference between the Police and the various civil bodies in Guwahati today.
