After securing majority on its own in Manipur, the BJP has received another shot in the arm with the Naga People’s Front and at least 2 Independent MLAs extending support
After securing majority on its own in Manipur, the BJP has received another shot in the arm with the Naga People’s Front and at least 2 Independent MLAs extending support to it.
The NPF with 5 MLAs has already written to the Governor extending support to the BJP. Besides, two Independent MLAs, Kesamthong legislator Nishikant Sapam and Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen, also extended support to the BJP.
With this, the strength of the BJP coalition has risen to 39.
Meanwhile, a day after the declaration of results, Chief Minister N Biren Singh called on Governor La Ganeshan today to tender his resignation.
