In a major drug bust in the Northeast, contraband worth more than Rs 5 crores was seized in Mizoram yesterday.
The Excise & Narcotics Department of Champhai district yesterday seized heroin worth upto a total of Rs 5 crore 23 lakh 20 thousand.
The drug haul was made in Zokhawthar Champhai in a joint operation with the Assam Rifles.

The contraband was found hidden in more than a hundred soapboxes.
One person has also been arrested in this connection.
In the meantime, the Champhai Excise and Narcotics Department has filed a case in this regard, with the police launching an investigation to find the drug ring working behind this.
