A fierce gun battle between Myanmar Army and rebels in the coup hit country prompted fresh exodus of hundreds of Myanmar nationals to Mizoram.
It was in the wee hours today, when Myanmar nationals out of fear crossed over to Mizoram and took refuge in the Champhai district.
Around 500 people crossed over to Mizoram in the wake of the firing, of which some have reportedly returned. This has been confirmed to Northeast Live by Champhai ADC Lalrawnkima Henry. The Champhai ADC further informed that the Village Level Committee on Mynamar refugees have rehabilitated those who have crossed over to the Indian side in Mizoram.
