The third flight of the Modi government’s Operation Ganga landed in Delhi from Budapest at 9.30 am today. The flight, which took off earlier in the day, had 240 Indian nationals that were stranded in Ukraine.

It may be mentioned that a total of three flights carrying stranded Indian nationals took off in the last 24 hours amid intensified fighting between Russia and Ukraine.

The evacuation operation, named “Operation Ganga”, is being extensively activated from Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia. Camps have been set up in these countries at their borders with Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar thanked his Hungarian counterpart for extending full support for “Operation Ganga”.
