Its the 50 years celebration of the state of Arunachal Pradesh today. A grand function is set to be held at the golden jubilee outdoor stadium at Yupia which also marks the 36th statehood day for Arunachal.

Assam chief Minister and the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convener Himanta Biswa Sarma will be the chief guest on the occasion and Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will be the special guest.

A number of cultural events and concerts have also been lined up for the big day.

The major attraction of today’s event will be the performance of Bollywood playback singer Jubin Nautiyal.

The programme will be held on the two themes of ‘Celebrating Past and Nurturing Future’ and ‘Say No to Drugs’.

The venue of the Yupia stadium has a capacity of 15,000 but due to the Covid restrictions, an audience of around 7000 would be allowed.

Earlier yesterday, Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated the Yupia stadium ahead of today’s celebrations.

On the eve of statehood day, Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu also wished the people of the state.
