George B Lyngdoh added the issue of the Harijan colony was raked up by the ruling NPP led MDA Government right before the elections to garner sympathy votes to win the bye-elections in October last year.

The TMC leader said that the ownership of the land at the Harijan colony was signed to the Government right after the election dates were announced.

Lyngdoh however admitted that the long-pending issue has been a legacy problem right from the time of the British.
