With considerable improvement in Assam’s COVID scenario, the state is going to lift all COVID restrictions in the state from February 15 onwards. With daily COVID dwindling, the authorities will be lifting the night curfew as well as other restrictions that have been in effect over the past few months.

However, the use of masks and sanitisers is still going to be mandatory. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that while the COVID scenario in Assam is now normal, people still have to exercise all necessary precautions.

Earlier, the announcements were made by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at a press conference held at Janata Bhawan, Dispur on February 7.

Although the government decided to lift the restrictions, Chief Minister Sarma highlighted that wearing of face masks will be mandatory for all, irrespective of any SOPs issued by the government.

Further, Chief Minister Sarma informed that movie halls will be operated with 100 per cent capacity for fully vaccinated persons.

Schools, Colleges and other educational institutions have also been allowed to open from February 15, and it is compulsory for students of Higher Secondary and HSLC to procure vaccine certificates.
