Meghalaya TMC Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has said that the move of the 5 Congress MLAs to extend support to the MDA government did not come as a surprise at all.

Taking a dig at MPCC president Vincent Pala, Sangma said that background parleys were on with the NPP since the time Pala took over as Pradesh Congress Committee chief.

Sangma alleged that the NPP was trying to exploit the situation and the disharmony in the Congress was quite visible.
