The Meghalaya Congress has recommended to the AICC the suspension of the five-party MLAs who have extended support to the MDA.
Briefing the media, Meghalaya Congress president Vincent Pala said that the high command will decide on this and a result is expected soon. Pala said that nothing is under his jurisdiction as far as taking disciplinary action against party MLAs is concerned. Pala said that the Congress high command is not in favour of the five MLAs of the Congress Legislature Party joining the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance.
According to the MPCC president, the MLAs did not consult him when making this decision to support the NPP-led MDA government.

Pala said that it is likely the five MLAs may be suspended and a show-cause notice might be given to them. He also stated that Congress can do it even if the five MLAs are not present.
Earlier today, a meeting of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee was held, wherein two of the five MLAs, Mohendro Rapsang and Mayralborn Syiem, participated in it. Pala added that the two MLAs who were present in the meeting today asked for more time.
Meghalaya Congress President Vincent Pala meanwhile made a sensational allegation regarding the 5 party MLAs who have extended unconditional support to the MDA coalition. Talking exclusively to our editor-in-chief Wasbir Hussain, the Meghalaya Congress president claimed that the MDA may have used money power to lure the Congress MLAs. Not only this, Pala went to say that the present government has amassed huge money from illegal activities.
