The lack of adequate development has emerged as the prime reason for people residing in the international bordering areas of Arunachal Pradesh to migrate to the towns or places where at least some development has taken place over the decades.

North East Live Correspondent Ripunjoy Das visited Singa, a remote circle headquarters in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh that shares a long boundary with China, for a ground zero report and to know the grievances faced by the locals.

Singa, which was declared a circle headquarters in 1963, is yet to see the light of development and is still deprived of proper electricity connection, health care facilities, public transportation, educational facilities, and connectivity.

Villagers in the area have requested the authorities concerned to look into their problems urgently in order to stop migration from the area. Meanwhile, construction of a road connecting Tuting and Singa is underway, which is expected to bring the first light of development for the villagers of Singa.
