The People’s Liberation Army of China has assured to release the 17-year-old boy from Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district, Miram Taron, who was allegedly detained by them on Tuesday. Confirmation has come in from the Defence Ministry.
Sources from the Defence Ministry have said that the Indian Army has spoken to the PLA through a hotline and they have already promised that they will be looking into the matter and will release him immediately.
It was also stated that the boy’s release would take at least 7–10 days. It was also added that the detainment is being termed as “normal procedure,” and once the procedure is over, the PLA will hand him over to the Indian Army.
The teenager was allegedly abducted by the Chinese PLA from inside the Indian territory at Lungta Jor, in the Siyungla area of Upper Siang district while on a hunting trip. His friend escaped from the PLA and reported it to the authorities. The incident had been flagged off by Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao.

Earlier, China’s People’s Liberation Army has reportedly kidnapped a youth from Arunachal Pradesh after intruding inside the Indian Territory.
As per reports, the incident happened on January 18 at Lungta Jor area which falls under Siyungla of Upper Siang district.
Arunachal Pradesh MP Tapir Gao took to social media to share the news, where he stated that the kidnapped youth is 17-year old Miram Taron, who hails from Zido village.
Tapir Gao also stated that another youth who was with Miram managed to escape from the PLA’s clutches and reported the matter to the authorities. The Arunachal East MP also added that the spot of Lungta Jor, from where the youth has been reportedly kidnapped by the PLA, is the area where China built a 3 to 4 kilometre long road inside the Indian Territory. Tapir Gao also called upon the Centre to take up the matter with China.
