The demand for granting permanent residency certificates to Assamese communities living in Arunachal Pradesh is getting louder.

After ULFA-Independent commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah made an appeal to Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu recently to grant PRC to Assamese communities living in Arunachal, the demand has now been taken up by the students’ bodies in Assam.

The demand to grant PRC to Assamese communities like Ahoms, Sonowal Kacharis, Adivasis, Deoris, Morans and Mishings was today raised a large meeting organized by the All Lekang Students Union at Mahadevpur in Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The event was also attended by All Assam Student Union leaders who joined the local students’ bodies in demanding PRC for the Assamese communities in Arunachal.
