In continuation with the recommendation submitted by the Itanagar Capital Deputy Commissioner to the state government due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the city, a fresh order was issued on Monday by the Deputy Commissioner stating that the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) shall go for a partial lockdown until further order.

Addressing the media persons, DC Talo Potom stated that the state government after going through the letter issued by him has further suggested and recommended for a partial lockdown adhering to the guidelines framed by the Centre.

In continuation with the recommendation submitted by the Itanagar Capital Deputy Commissioner to the state government due to the rising cases of COVID-19, a fresh order was issued on Monday by the DC stating that the Itanagar Capital Region shall go for a partial lockdown until further order.

ICR shall go for a partial Lockdown with the opening of shops in alternative days.

Addressing the media this afternoon, DC Potom Informed that the state government after going through the letter issued by him has further suggested and recommended for a lockdown when the percentage of covid reached to 10 percent or above adhering to the guidelines framed by the Government of India.

However, it is to be mentioned that the DC Capital had earlier recommended the lockdown based on the 19 June notification of State Health Task Force and Disaster Management Authority wherein a DC can recommend for Lockdown if the cases rises more than 5 percent within a week.

According to the fresh order, starting from Tuesday, right hand side of the shops from Hollongi to Banderdewa Highway will be opened on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and alternatively on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Left side Shops shall remain open from the same stretch of Highway.

Meanwhile, directives has been issued to the shopkeepers and the vendors by the District administration to encourage customers to observe COVID-19 appropriate behaviours while selling products.

Accordingly, night curfew from 6 PM to 5 AM shall continue to remain till 30th June until further orders.

Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday reported its highest single-day spike of 566 new COVID-19 cases. The positivity rate stood at 9.21 per cent.

The state has so far recorded 40,383 cases of COVID-19. The Capital Complex Region recorded the highest number of new cases at 138, followed by West Kameng (76), Lohit (39), Papumpare (34) and West Siang (31).
