Arunachal Tourism department distributes paragliding equipments

As many as seven pilots from the Paragliding Association of Arunachal (PAA) have received paragliding and adventure sets under the Chief Minister Paryatan Vikas Yojna scheme. The equipment’s were distributed by the tourism department of the State.

40 pilots have been trained so far under the scheme, out of which 20 pilots, including five lady pilots, have availed the benefits.

Taking to Twitter, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated the paragliding pilots on successful completion of their training programme.

“Congratulations to all the paragliding pilots on completion of their training under CM #ParyatanVikasYojna. A noble work by State Tourism Dept in engaging unemployed youths as paragliders and working to promote Arunachal as hot paragliding destination,” Khandu tweeted.

Under the flagship scheme, the tourism department assists unemployed youths of the state with the objectives of employment generation and promotion of adventure tourism.

Director of Tourism, Abu Tayeng said that the department will always support the association in its initiative to develop Arunachal as destination of adventure tourism and also to encourage new pilots to take up paragliding activities for self-employment.
