Two NSCN (R) cadres were apprehended in a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh police from Tirap district in the wee hours of Friday.
Meanwhile, two overground workers of the NSCN(R) were also arrested. Arms and ammunition were also seized from their possession.
It may be mentioned that one of the rebels while intercepted by the security forces had tried to lob a grenade, but failed.
