A day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached out to the tea garden voters, BJP’s mascot for Assam elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress.
Addressing a mega rally in Rangapara, Sarma said that the Congress had done nothing for the tea gardens during its decades long regime. He also said that the Congress is trying to reap political benefits by making false promises.
The senior BJP leader also lambasted the Congress for aligning with the AIUDF only for the sake of grabbing power and also mocked the party’s five-guarantee strategy.
Stressing on the fact that the BJP is committed to transform the state, he assured that the BJP-led coalition after retaining power will provide jobs to 1 lakh youths.
Sarma also interacted with locals and discussed on the various grievances being faced by them.
