Meghalaya: Family of PA Sangma remembers him on his 5th death anniversary

Former Lok Sabha speaker Purno Agitok Sangma was fondly remembered on his fifth death anniversary on Thursday. The family members of the former Meghalaya chief minister including his widow Soradini K Sangma, son and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma along with daughter and Tura MP Agatha K Sangma paid tributes to PA Sangma at his final resting place.
The Chief Minister later paid floral tributes to PA Sangma at Dakopgre along with his family members and party workers.
On the other hand, NEDA convenor and Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also remembered Sangma on his death anniversary.
“Late PA Sangma was a towering politician, an extraordinary administrator and a grand visionary. On his punya tithi, I pay my finest respect to this loved leader, who taught us so much. Your vision, ideas and ideals remain our inspiration,” Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.
Meanwhile, the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) also observed the death anniversary of the people’s leader who had passed away in 2016.

USTM pays tributes to P A Sangma
Addressing the gathering, Prof G.D. Sharma, vice-chancellor of the university said that USTM is grateful to Late PA Sangma as he had played a vital role during the enactment of the USTM Act in the Meghalaya Assembly in 2008.
“Late PA Sangma was a visionary leader who wanted to nurture the young minds through education,” the VC said.
