Security forces apprehend NSCN-KK cadre in Arunachal’s Longding

The Indian Army in a joint operation on Wednesday apprehended self-styled Lieutenant Jyachok Wangsu, a key member of the NSCN-KK actively involved in extortion activities of the outfit in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding area.

The NSCN-KK cadre was apprehended along with weapons and live ammunition from the outskirts of Kanubari area.

Over the past two months, based on confirmed input regarding the movement of the individual from Longding to Kanubari for collection of extortion money, security forces had been pursuing the cadre who was finally arrested yesterday.

It needs to be mentioned that Jyachok is a key member of the team of self-styled Captain Hikai Wangpan of NSCN-KK who is operating in general area of Longding.

The apprehended insurgent and recovered items were later handed over to Longding Police for further investigation.
