Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday interacted with journalists from different media houses on the first day of the New Year at Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal conveyed his New Year wishes to the media fraternity of the state. He lauded the role played by the journalists in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sonowal also shed light on the achievements of his government in the development of Assam as well as the welfare of the citizens.

Senior journalists PJ Barooah, Rabi Shankar Ravi, Utpal Barua, Enakshi Barua, Rahul Karmakar, Pranjit Saikia also spoke on the occasion.

Along with CM Sonowal, his media advisor Hrishikesh Goswami, State information commissioner Samudra Gupta Kashyap were also present at the event.
