North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor and Assam cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday attended the state BJP executive meeting in Karimganj.
Addressing the meeting in Karimganj of Barak Valley, Sarma spoke on the growing organizational power of the BJP in every part of Assam.
“In 2016, we couldn’t win a single seat in the Bodoland area. But today we have claimed victory in the BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region). We must thank all the BJP of Bodoland….The victory in Bodoland ensured that BJP will definitely form government in 2021,” Sarma said.
He also came down heavily on Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) for posing threats to Assamese culture and tradition.
He stated that BJP has ended the 15 years of misrules of Congress in Assam. Sarma also highlighted various welfare and developmental schemes undertaken by the BJP-led government both at centre and state.
Along with minister Sarma, state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, state Prabhari Baijayant Panda, national general secretary Dilip Saikia and State Seh Prabhari Pawan Sharma also attended the executive meeting.
