Arunachal Pradesh recorded 73 percent turnout in the local body elections held on Tuesday.

According to News On Air, State Election Commissioner Hage Kojeen told reporters this afternoon that the polling was largely peaceful across the State.

He said the highest poll percentage was recorded in Longding District with about 86 percent turnout and lowest in Pasighat Municipality with 52.25 percent.

The State Election Commissioner also informed that re-polling at 8 polling stations will be held tomorrow where the election process could not be completed due to incidents like ballot box snatching and other such reasons on the polling day.

The elections for the two-tier Panchayati Raj system and two municipal bodies of Itanagar and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh were held on Tuesday simultaneously.
