In a gruesome incident, a teenage girl from Assam’s Barpeta district was allegedly raped and brutally murdered in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
The deceased identified as Jasminara Akhtar, got herself enrolled at a nursing institute in Bengaluru following which the girl’s family members left the city on December 14. Later, on December 16, the student’s body was recovered mysteriously.
The family members of Jasminara alleged that a young student and two classmates, along with another student have killed her.
Meanwhile, the Bengaluru Police have arrested a man named Anisur Rahman from Goalpara, who is suspected to be the main accused in the case.
Various parties in Barpeta have demanded that the main accused be hanged after investigating the incident.
One of the locals from Jasmin’s native place said, “The man reportedly is a friend of her brother. He was helping her with the admission, too. On Wednesday, the victim went to the accuser’s residence and later was found in a pool of blood by locals.”
The local added, “If Jasmin was raped and then murdered we want all the accused to be punished rigorously and want capital punishment for all of them”.
Police sources added that the accused was known to the victim.
