NEDA convenor and BJP mascot Himanta Biswa Sarma, who held more than 50 rallies in the BTR over the last one month, was seen campaigning on the final leg at Baksa on Friday, and this time he chose to pedal his way through the campaign.

Himanta Biswa Sarma’s campaign in BTR has received massive turnout and support each time, people in huge numbers were seen joining Sarma in the mega cycle rally yesterday.

Sarma even took to Twitter to extend his gratitude for the love and affection received by the people of Baksa. He said that the party will continue to roll the wheel of prosperity in Bodoland.

Continuing his tirade against the alleged BPF misrule under party chief Hagrama Mohilary, Sarma reiterated that the Centre and the state government had disbursed funds for welfare schemes, but the same was allegedly siphoned off during the 15-years of BPF rule.

Sarma even attacked the Mohilary-led BPF for failing to provide job cards to the youth, as well pension schemes to the aged, thereby depriving the needy sections from availing benefits of government schemes.

Meanwhile, Sarma said that if elected to power, BJP will make available all the welfare schemes to the people, including the recently launched Orunodoi scheme, under which over 18 lakh families in the state will receive a minimum of Rs 830 in their bank accounts every month. He also added that BJP would grant equal status to one and all in the entire BTR region.
