Talking to Northeast Live, State Surveillance Officer, Dr Somorjit Ningombam stated that population-based seroepidemiological investigation of COVID-19 in Manipur will be conducted in four districts of the state.
The sero survey will be conducted in Imphal West, Kakching, Ukhrul and Churachandpur districts. A sample would be collected from each household of identified locations of these districts.
Altogether 4,600 samples will be collected amongst the population of two valley districts and two hill districts of the state from November 30 to December 19.
Dr Somorjit further added that the survey will be completed within three weeks time.
Twelve medical teams consisting of 5 members in each team have been constituted for the sample collection and test kits approved by ICMR would be used during the testing.
Meanwhile, The state registered 211 new cases on Saturday, taking the overall tally to 21,636. While 18,334 patients have been discharged so far. The recovery rate stands at 84.73 per cent.
