4.0 magnitude earthquake hits Manipur’s Moirang

An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter Scale hit Manipur’s Moirang at 7:27 pm on Tuesday. According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicentre was 43 km southwest of Moirang.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicentre was 43 km southwest of Moirang. The earthquake occured at a depth of more than 15 kilometres.

No loss to property and lives have been reported.

Earlier on June 21, a moderate intensity earthquake had hit Manipur. The epicentre of the quake was located 9 km from Ngopa area of neighbouring Mizoram.
