Two more returnees test COVID-19 +ve in Meghalaya; tally at 33

Two more returnees in Meghalaya tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. The total coronavirus cases count has now reached 33. The patients who had returned to the state from Goa

Two more returnees in Meghalaya tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. The total coronavirus cases count has now reached 33.

The patients who had returned to the state from Goa and Maharashtra are reportedly healthy. Both individuals are currently put under quarantine in Shillong, East Khasi Hills District.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma took to his official Twitter handle to confirm the development.

“Two more people who had returned to Meghalaya from Goa and Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID19. Both of them are under quarantine in Shillong, East Khasi Hills District and are healthy,” Sangma tweeted.

(Total Positive Cases 33 Total Active cases 19 Total Recovered 13 Total Deceased 1)

Earlier in the day, a Meghalaya resident who had returned from Agra in Uttar Pradesh tested positive for the virus, taking the total cases to 31. He is put under quarantine at Jowai in West Jaintia Hills District.

The active cases tally in the state now stands at 19, whereas, the total cases recovered is 13.
