Another fresh case of COVID-19 has been detected in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the total active cases to 28, till 4 PM on Wednesday.

The total cases so far reported is 29, wherein the first Covid patient from Tezu has been discharged.

Addressing media, State Nodal Officer for COVID-19 Dr l Jampa has disclosed the overall scenario of COVID-19 in the state.

He said  As of June 2, the total samples that has been collected in the state are 9,079 and 1,241 results are awaited.

Due to backlog recently, the state health department has sent the backlogged samples to New Delhi wherein 147 samples were sent in the first batch and all the samples were tested negative. In the second batch of the samples, 363 samples were sent out of which 15 tested negative.

Meanwhile Dr Jampa also disclosed that there shall be a change in the standard operating protocol (SOP) in the next couple of days due to backlog in RTPCR testing and other grounds issues.
