On Saturday, two more locations in Guwahati were declared as Containment Zones. Kamrup (Metro) district administration has declared IOCL Betkuchi Campus and Pandu Railway New Colony as ‘Containment Zone’ following the detection of COVID-19 patients at these areas.
Kamrup Metro District Administration have been directed to seal these areas as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19.
According to the notification, any movement of any unauthorised individual and vehicle within these areas is prohibited with immediate effect.
The boundary of the Containment Zone are as follows:
Betkuchi
- North: IOCL Betkuchi Campus
- South: Residence of Sri Suchil Tamuly
- East: Residence of Sri Breej Mohan Das
- West: Maniram Dewan Trade Centre
Pandu
- North: Railway Colony quarters
- South: New Colony Road
- East: Jai Hind Club Chariali
- West: Railway Colony Road
Meanwhile, district administration has withdrawn the Containment Zone status for two lactions in Guwahati.
As no further case has been detected since the declaration of containment zone in the declared areas, the containment zone tags have been removed from Katahbari and Rukminigaon.
However residents of the areas have been asked to follow all the protocols for preventing the deadly disease. The Rukminigaon Byelane-2 was declared as a containment zone after a girl who staying as a tenant in the area tested positive after returning to Tripura.
