One more person have tested positive for COVID-19 in Assam, taking the tally to 97.

A 28-year-old person from Cachar dist, who arrived from Chennai have tested positive for coronavirus, with this the total number of active cases in the state has reached 52.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “28-year-old person from Cachar dist, who arrived from Chennai yesterday, has tested #COVID +. He is now under treatment at Silchar Medical College & Hospital.

Earlier in the day, a 9-year-old boy had tested positive at Jorhat in upper Assam.

The boy along with his 8-member family had returned from Delhi and was in facility quarantine. The boy’s cousin, 19 year old Abdul Samim, a Delhi University student, also tested positive.
