24 state residents including students from Meghalaya who were stranded in Rajasthan reached capital city Shillong on Tuesday. Among these, 2 persons hails from East Jaintia Hills while the rest
24 state residents including students from Meghalaya who were stranded in Rajasthan reached capital city Shillong on Tuesday.
Among these, 2 persons hails from East Jaintia Hills while the rest belongs to East Khasi Hills. Local authorities said that those who have returned were being sent to home quarantine after proper screening and registration.
Meanwhile, a few students were sent to institutional quarantine following request of their parents.
It may be mentioned that over 8,000 students and workers hailing from Meghalaya are stranded in different parts of the country and are expected to return to state in the second phase.
In the first phase over 3,030 state residents had returned from different parts of the Northeast.
