All positive cases belong to the 138th unit of the Border Security Force (BSF) camp, stationed at Ambassa in Tripura’s Dhalai district.
Among the others active cases, two minors have been tested positive and two patients were discharged after full recovery.
The development was confirmed by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on his official Twitter handle.
Deb wrote, “More 13 persons including two kids of 138th-Bn #BSF Ambassa found #COVID19 positive. Total #COVID19 positive cases in #Tripura stands at 29 (2 already discharged, so active cases: 27).”
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also informed that the BSF jawans who were found positive for the deadly virus on Sunday has been shifted to GB hospital for better treatment. He further appealed to the people not to panic.

He further mentioned, all the patients were asymptomatic and are now under proper medication.
“12 #BSF personnel who were found #COVID19 Positive yesterday, have been shifted to GB hospital today for better treatment. All of them were asymptomatic and now under proper medication. Condition of all the patients are now stable and responding to the treatment,” tweeted Biplab Deb.

Earlier, on Saturday last two BSF personnel from Ambassa had also tested positive for the coronavirus.
