One more COVID-19 positive was reported from Bilasipara in Dhubri district of Assam on Thursday, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 35.
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted confirming the development, “Alert ~ A man from Bilasipara, Dhubri has tested #COVID positive. He has a history of being in touch with another patient, who was part of Athgaon Majid congregation in Guwahati. The number of patients is now 35.”
The total number of active cases in the state stands at 15. However, 19 patients have fully recovered, while 1 person succumbed to the virus.
It may be mentioned that the individual had attended the religious congregation at Aathgaon Kabarsthan Masjid in Guwahati.
The positive person had come in contact with another COVID-19 patient who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin and also organised the Athgaon Masjid event.
