Ever since there was a delay in burial of Bethany doctor who succumbed to the deadly COVID-19 a couple of days back, sharp reactions poured in from different sections of the society condemning denial of burial space by locals of at least 2 areas.

The delay in burial of the State’s first COVID-19 victim has caught the attention of even the Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.

The Vice President has expressed concern and agony over the matter.

Condemning the resistance by locals of 2 areas for burial of the deceased Bethany doctor, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said that such incidents are a blot on the society’s consciousness and of great concern for all irrespective of party, religion and region.

The Vice President further stressed on the need to educate people and eradicate misconceptions on COVID-19 to prevent such inhumane incidents in future.

Vice President Naidu urged the people of the Country to be empathic and respond compassionately and not react irrationally.
