The Pema Khandu government in Arunachal Pradesh has banned the consumption of wild meat and birds as a precautionary measure against the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Dr Rabindra Kumar sent a directive to all SPs and DCs of the state and asked them to ensure that no one consumes wild meat and birds across the state.

He also asked the concerned authorities to make sure that no amount of meat is sold in the open and under the nose of local administration especially during festivals.
