The NDFB anti-talks faction which is all set to sign a fresh agreement has maintained that Bodoland is still its main demand.

Talking to newspersons for the first time after returning to the mainstream, the NDFB-S chief B Saoraigwra alias Amar Basumatary said Bodoland remains the primary demand besides maintaining that the Centre is quite positive on the issue.

It may be mentioned that close on the heels of signing the suspension of operations agreement with the Government of India, NDFB-S Chief B Saoraigwra alias Amar Basumatary and NDFB general secretary BR Ferrenga have arrived in Assam’s Kokrajhar district.

Currently, the NDFB-S leaders are staying at a camp in Dighalipar along with other cadres of the rebel group who has signed the Suspension of Operations pact with the government.

Meanwhile, at a time when reports are doing the rounds that some other top NDFB-S leaders are still out in the forests, Saoraigwra maintained that leaders including G Bidai and K Batha will return soon. The NDFB-S chief said that currently 50 cadres have arrived at the Dighalipaar camp.

The rebel leader hopes that the Government of India will bring a peaceful solution. When asked about the stand of other factions of the NDFB, B Saoraigwra said that everyone would come together for an inclusive solution.
