Anti-CAA protests escalate across country; Sec 144 imposed across Delhi, Bengaluru

Section 144 has been imposed in several parts of the New Delhi on Thursday to clamp down on protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Borders of Delhi have been sealed and riot police are being deployed in the streets of the National Capital.
Authorities have barricaded roads, imposed traffic restrictions and suspended mobile internet services.
Many protesters have been detained and intense frisking of vehicles are being carried out by the police.
A number of protesters have also been detained near Red Fort in Delhi, including Swaraj India’s Yogendra Yadav.
Entry and exit gates of as many as 18 metro Stations in New Delhi have been closed. Massive traffic snarls have been witnessed in all the major roads of New Delhi.
Besides Delhi, Anti-CAA protests are being carried out simultaneously in 9 other cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh.
